MEMBER OF THE NATIONAL ECONOMIC COUNCIL
Beside his literary career, Tomas Sedlacek is one of 15 members of NERV, advisory body to the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic set up in 2009 to tackle financial crises and to assist with the rotating presidency of the EU.
Sedlacek co-designed a macroeconomic package which became a vital inspiration for economic policy of the current and previous Czech governments.

A member of Yale University World Fellowship, selected as one of “The Five Hot Minds in Economics” by Yale Economic Journal in December 2006. Co-author of various case studies for Harvard and Georgetown. Lecturer and PhDr. graduate at Charles University in Prague, one of the oldest universities in Europe.

ADVISOR TO FINANCE MINISTER AND VICE PRIME MINISTER
A non-political advisor to the Minister of Finance, responsible for macroeconomic issues, fiscal consolidation, European affairs and communication with The World Bank. Participated at the first historical Czech Sovereign Eurobond Emission, represented the country at the World Bank and IMF meetings in Washington DC.

ECONOMIC ADVISOR TO THE CZECH PRESIDENT VACLAV HAVEL
An advisor on macroeconomic issues dealing with the general economic part of the Presidential responsibilities. The main areas of responsibility were affairs with the Czech National Bank, Securities and Exchange Commission, Ministry of Finance and EU related economic issues.
